1) Do not ask to be a mod. The current mod team we have is more than sufficient, and we are not accepting new ones at this time.

2) Respect all people and their characters. If you have an issue, politely ask a manager to assist you.

3) Cursing in character is allowed, though try not to be overly excessive. Every other word out of a character's mouth should probably not be an F bomb. However, cussing out fellow members out of character will not be tolerated and will result in a warning, or a ban for repeated offenses.

4) You may not control anyone else's character without their written permission.

5) Please no spamming. Try to remain on topic in all threads. If something starts to veer off topic, then move the conversation elsewhere, else it will be regarded as spam and will be deleted. Any other senseless topics made for the sole purpose of, well, spamming, will also be deleted.

7) No sexism, racism, or -ism of any kind! This includes racial slurs, or any type of slurs for that matter. It is disgraceful and will not be tolerated. Offenses of this nature will result in an immediate 3 day ban, and for a second offense, a permanent ban.

8 ) Godmoding and power playing will not be permitted.

What is godmoding?

Passive Godmoding

Godmoding can occur when a character describes an event or a series of events he or she has taken against another character or interactive object, most often with the purpose of rescinding negative effects previously encountered or granting some other effect inconsistent with an innocent view of the narrative. Godmoding is thus often used like a get Out of Jail Free card when things don't go the way a player wants, rather than working with previously unfolded events. It is also used to describe the act of creating or playing with an invincible character or unbreakable armor, limitless power, etc. Some players will create a brand new character, and that character is automatically gifted with skills, and nearly impossible to take on right from the start. This happens when a newer character goes against an established one, and the newer character god-modes themselves as if they've been around the same length of time.

Active Godmoding

Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states that he strikes B and B takes damage they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, *misses A completely, and strikes C instead.*

Player A: Character A throws a punch at Character B.

Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back.

==Similarly, controlling characters that belong to someone else is also a form of godmoding.

Autoing:

The act of making decisions and/or actions for the target of your role play

Example: U dye now *kils u an waches blod shot from ur arm*.

Acts such as this are highly dishonorable and possibly the worst form of godmoding that can be acted upon.

Powermoding:

The act of constant regeneration and/or dodging of attacks and actions. This is commonly found in battle-situation role-plays. Classifications such as these are usually only used by the more experienced role players, usually to be only used after a certain level of experienced is reach. Acts such as this are not entirely dishonorable, for they are hard to notice, however this classification usually halts the SL ((Storyline)) from advancing any further, making the story both unfair and simply not fun.・

Example: After being struck by the blade aiming for his jugular *name of preference* would immediately use his anti-matter shield to regenerate within a matter of seconds. This would repeat throughout the SL ((storyline)) halting it completely

Keep in mind other forms of godmoding can include having your character be in two places at one for no reason, and using out of character information in character to gain an advantage.

Note: in order to prevent abuse of the replacement technique, it must be set up one turn in advance to use. Basically, your character has to have had it planned, and can't be used as a miraculous cop out when there are no other options.

9) Although there are general limits on how powerful a character is, it is generally up to the discretion of those you are RPing with as to what your characters are able or willing to do to each other. Try to communicate with your RP partners to determine just how you want your characters' stories to go. The only thing firmly restricted is the evolution of your ability's power, which will be left up to the discretion of the mods, based on a variety of factors.

10) You may not kill another person's character without their written permission first. People don't like it when their characters die, so just don't do it. Any violations of this will not be tolerated. However, if you choose to have a character die during your story, you may choose to make a new character of the same general level, meaning that if the character you killed off had evolved his power twice, you may then create another character with a power that has evolved twice.

11) New characters must start with a level one power, except for the aforementioned death scenario. Only mods may have a character start with a fully evolved power, and that is limited to one.

12) The RP type of this site is situational. By that, I mean you and whomever you are RPing with can create a topic in which you will play out all activities related to your characters and their stories. If you so choose to merge stories with other people, you can migrate to one topic or another. Generally, though, a single topic is all you should need for one character, unless there are certain site wide events, in which case a mod will create a separate topic for it.

Multiple characters of yours can be involved in one topic, if you wish, though you may not have a character in multiple topics at the same time. You may move your characters temporarily to another person's RP topic if you wish, if you plan on interacting with other people for a time, though while you have moved to that topic, you may not continue RPing in your original topic until your business is completed. Exceptions to this include several different teachers, who are RPed by the moderators. If at any time you need to interact with these specific teachers, please make a request to the proper mod and they will be happy to help.

13) If you do not post for 2 full days, without any warning that you will be unable to post, the people you are role playing with can move on without you, so please try to be active.

14) Though we do not require you to be a phenomenal writer, a firm, basic understanding of grammar and spelling is really a must. We must be able to understand what you are writing when you post, so appearing as though you have the grammar skills of a monkey is definitely not advised. No leetspeak, no internet shorthand, just try to write in full and complete sentences when you RP, that's all we ask.

15) Love between characters is allowed. Sex is also allowed, in all its forms. However, if your characters will be engaging in intimate relations, there are a few guidelines that you MUST follow.

There will be no sexual activity in the normal RP boards. Failure to follow this will result in the deletion of your posts, or a ban for repeated offenses. That is what the Mature Site is for. Any mature content will be written out on the Mature Site, and no where else. The Mature Site can be found Here

All characters to be engaging in sexual acts should be at least 17 years of age.

I for one don't believe in cutting this kind of material from the site. Some people will use it, others will not, it is merely another form of rping. If you do not agree with it, you do not have to read it, no one is forcing you. The content is clearly marked and contained on a separate site that you need to join in order to see, and as such, easily avoidable. Do not complain about it and do not flame other people for using it. It is their choice and their interest, which they are entitled to, and nothing gives the right to ridicule someone for it. If you have negative comments about it, I will politely ask you to keep them quietly to yourself.

Other than that, write what you will.

A side note to clarify some of the above: Light sexual content is allowed on the regular RP board. As long as it does not get too graphic, you do not need to take it to the mature sire. However, if you plan to be describing things in graphic detail, then that is when you must take it off the regular site and onto the mature site. Whether or not something is too graphic is usually left to people's judgement, with mods having the final say if they see something they feel has gone too far, but if you find yourself questioning whether it is still appropriate to keep on the regular site, then it is probably best to take it to the mature site.
